Being a zookeeper....while pregnant

So far so good at work!   I wasn't sure how being pregnant would affect my job. I have a very physical job that I am on my feet for 10 hours.   My belly is still pretty small so we will see once I get bigger.  

Things I can't do anymore: 

Scuba dive (obviously)

Work with our panther since cats carry toxoplasmosis

Work around too many chemicals like chlorine 

Yep that's it!  I figure as the summer rolls on I may not be able to restrain manatees like I used to, or climb up on things.  Our lettuce we feed out can weigh 30-40 lbs a case so I may watch the lifting as time goes on.   

My coworkers have been so supportive.  The crazy thing is my coworker is also pregnant and due the same day!  My boss is not thrilled with that.  But it's been so nice to have her to talk to.  

I'm worried about working this summer when it's 90 degrees each day.  Normally the summer is killer here but being pregnant should make it pretty tough.   I plan to take more breaks than usual.  And hopefully work at the manatee pools more so I can stay cool.  :)
