I had my week 24 appt today. Just a routine appt. The usual stuff like blood pressure, urine check, weight, and fetal heart monitor. All in good order.
My doctor recommended because we are having an IVF baby that we get a fetal echo test done. It basically is an ultrasound that can look at the heart closer up. I guess ivf babies run a bigger risk of heart problems. She said our ultrasound with them looked fine but she still recommended it. We will have to go see a specialist. If there were issues it would basically mean I would need to change hospitals that I would deliver at because we would need one with a NICU. I'm not worried but better to know ahead of time. I'll update once we know more in a few weeks.
Just take it as another chance to see baby!
